From Buenos Aires to Pittsburgh: Rodolfo Zanetti to perform “Ché Bandoneón!” on Feb. 20!

Calling all music lovers: You’re invited to join us for a wonderful evening full of Argentinian music from the past and present, as Music at Third presents: “Ché Bandoneón!”, a performance by Rodolfo Zanetti, on Friday, February 20 2026!
Music at Third’s Spring 2026 concert series continues to roll on as we welcome one of the world’s premier bandoneon players, Rodolfo Zanetti, to our historic Sanctuary for a special live performance!
The concert will be available in-person or online here at thirdchurch.org. Admission is by free-will donation and the concert begins at 7:30pm EST!
About Roldofo Zanetti:
Rodolfo Zanetti, a native of Argentina, is a renowned bandoneon player, a type of concertina particularly popular in his home country and an essential instrument in most tango ensembles. Dedicated to playing tango from an early age, he has established himself as a prominent figure in the tango scene.
Zanetti’s musical journey includes performances with esteemed orchestras such as the Mancifesta Orchestra and Tango & Punto, as well as co-founding the Quintet Bandó, with which he has undertaken successful tours to Washington, Chicago, and New York. Notably, he directed Maria de Buenos Aires, the masterpiece of Astor Piazzolla and Horacio Ferrer, under the auspices of the Astor Piazzolla Foundation in 2003.
He has performed as a bandoneon soloist with various esteemed ensembles, including the Choir of the National University of Cuyo (U.N.C. – Mendoza) and the Coro de Jóvenes de la Universidad Nacional de Cuyo. In 2009, he founded El Despunte Tango Club, a traditional tango trío, and in 2013, he performed as a soloist at the Fiesta Nacional de la Vendimia, a prominent wine event in Mendoza.
In the United States, Zanetti has had the honor of performing as a soloist with the Pan American Symphony Orchestra at esteemed venues such as the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, the Lisner Auditorium of George Washington University, the Embassy of Argentina, and the Organization of American States. He has also performed at Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts and Carnegie Hall in New York.
Zanetti’s accolades include winning the First Prize as a bandoneonist at the “Che Bandoneón International Competition” awarded by the Argentine Tango Society at the Stowe Music Tango Festival in Vermont, USA, in 2017. He participated as a bandoneon player in the album “Vigor Tanguero” by Pedro Giraudo, which received the Latin Grammy for Best Tango Album, and was a soloist in the recording of the album “Tango of the Americas,” nominated for Best Tango Album by the Latin Grammy Awards.
During the years 2021-2022, he served as the President of PAMAR, Pan American Music Research. Zanetti studied bandoneon with Jorge Puebla and Hilario Alberto Iribarne, and piano with masters Monica Rizzo and Roberto Urbay at the Faculty of Arts of the National University of Cuyo, Mendoza, Argentina.
