Abundance: Our Lenten Message Series

Third Church is excited to announce “Abundance”, our Lenten Message Series happening from March 5- April 20, 2025!

The series will focus on the perspective that, though Lent is a known as a season of sacrifice, and the world is in an uncertain period at this time, there is an abundance of positive things happening in our world and our faith!

We’re also extremely excited to announce a full calendar of exciting events happening around Third Church during Lent!

Love Feast

Maundy Thursday, April 17th

6:30-7:30pm

The Social Hall

Have you ever heard of a Love Feast?  It’s a phrase that is derived from the first century church’s practice of coming together to promote fellowship, community, unity, and (of course) love among participants.  We need to be together – with each other, and with our Lord Jesus!

A Love Feast is a service of table fellowship in which those who gather: (1) share a meal together; (2) hear Scripture read together; (3) pray together; (4) sing hymns together; (5) celebrate the sacrament of the Lord’s Supper together.  You’re invited to come together for a catered dinner to experience community, friendship, and fellowship with one another and with the Spirit of our Lord Jesus Christ.  Please RSVP in the church office by Monday, March 25th  so we have an accurate headcount for food.  If your plans change at the last minute, please feel free to come and join us anyway!  Jesus will provide and multiply the food!

Stations of the Cross Hike

Good Friday, April 18th

12:00-1:30pm

Frick Park Environmental Center

The Stations of the Cross or The Way of the Cross is an ancient practice of prayer and meditation that invites participants to make a spiritual pilgrimage by contemplating the Passion of Christ.  On Friday, March 29th, Good Friday, we will gather at the Frick Park Visitor Center (rain, sleet, snow, or shine) to hike the 1-mile Clayton Trail Loop and incorporate the readings, prayers, and meditations from the Stations of the Cross as we make our spiritual pilgrimage to Christ’s cross.  Join Pastor Kyle as he will guide us through the hike and the prayers.

Good Friday Service of Shadows

Good Friday, April 18th

7:30-8:30pm

Online via Zoom and Twitch

The service of shadows is reflective service of scripture, song, and meditation that features the gradual extinguishing of candle light.  The darkness grows with the reading of the scriptural accounts of Jesus’ final hours, and this darkness invites us into a deeper contemplation of the crucifixion of Christ.  Gather your candles and join us online for this service of worship.

Easter Sunday Service

Sunday, April 20th

11:00am

In The Sanctuary and Online via Zoom and Twitch

He Is Risen! Join us as we celebrate the resurrection of Christ our Lord with a worship service including music, scripture and more! Bring many friends and celebrate this glorious day with us!
